So I've finally gotten around to setting up a Dreamwidth account. Free and basic, for now. That may change later, but for today I just need to get it done. Last night I dreamed I was living in an interesting sort of steam-punk version of Australia. It seemed to be just after WWII, but in an alternate reality. In the dream, I was teasing the Sparrowhawk by telling him that you have to be over six feet tall and have a deep bass voice--otherwise they don't allow you to live in Australia. If you're a woman, of course, the rules are different.
Last night before we went to sleep, we had been talking about things I've seen in dreams, which would include God. He said he thought that I access a different reality in my dreams, so if I've seen God, possibly God exists. I said, "So are we also going to believe in time travel because I've seen it in my dreams?" He said, "I'm inclined to posit its existence, for that very reason." I continued to scoff. "I also open portals to other worlds! And that's not happening!" "Oh, yes it is," he replied. "That's exactly what you do, all the time." I have to say, he's my Best Fan Ever. Even if we do have a terrible case of folie a deux. They'll have to make an exception for him in alternate Australia, or I'm not going to stay there long.
Yesterday we set out for my mother's place at 8 am, under rolling clouds. By the time we got her to the Duchess's place, blue sky and sun had appeared, only to be swallowed by clouds again as the wind came up. On the way home, we passed through a spatter of rain, and then the clouds rolled away again to reveal a perfect blue sky that lasted till sunset. When we set out, we could see little green buds at the end of all the twigs, still tightly curled and tentative. On the way home, all the buds had taken the great leap and uncurled, and a mist of brand-new green softened the bare branches for the first time. Spring arrived definitively in one day, and unpacked her bags to stay awhile.
