Jun. 25th, 2017 08:04 pmI had such a nice time yesterday. Today I woke up feeling strangely lightheaded and achy. I tried to snap out of it. We went to church because a friend was leading the service, and we wanted to be supportive. However, I felt worse and worse. By the time we got home, I had a fever. It feels like the flu, but with no coughing or congestion, thank goodness. It's kind of funny, because we had plans to visit with an old high school friend of the Sparrowhawk's, who comes back to town every now and then to see family. But she texted us that she was in the hospital with an attack of diverticulitis, so I couldn't have seen her anyway.
Meanwhile, I spent a lot of time last night and this morning making phone calls, trying to find out why my mother's antibiotics, prescribed for her on Thursday, had not yet been dispensed to her. I succeeded to the extent that she is now receiving them as of this morning. However, I still cannot understand how this unacceptable state of affairs came about, or how to prevent it next time. Her residence seems to have some peculiar requirements and communication gaps. And the doctors don't seem to feel it is their responsibility to fill those requirements. So the meds sit in the pharmacy and no one gets any benefit from them. Of course, everyone I need to talk to is out of the office/on vacation, so I'll have to make some more calls tomorrow. I hope my brain is working again by then.
