We spent a lot of time in church today. We went early to help set up for the concert and spaghetti dinner. Then came the service. Then everybody else ate spaghetti while the music group entertained them. Then the music group ate what was left, which didn't amount to very much. Then we helped take down and put away everything, and THEN we finally went home! I was disappointed in my own performance--doubly so, as I really PRACTICED these pieces! However, the spaghetti-eaters don't seem to have noticed. They found our cheerful noise agreeable. I always say to myself, "Well, maybe next time!"

We spent a couple of hours in the afternoon sitting by the lake. It was too nice a day to miss out on being outside. Someday this endless summer will end, but it hasn't happened yet.
