I woke up this morning, and it had snowed! Our first real snow that stayed on the ground. Although it melted from the sidewalk, conveniently relieving me of the need to get out the snow shovel quite yet. Winter is here, and I'm a little sad. I have to get my mojo back so I can brave the cold without flinching. I was getting spoiled and thinking I lived in North Carolina or something. I wonder if I have SAD. The short grey days are making me feel restless, cranky, and claustrophobic. I think I just need to get out more. And I probably will, now that the Sparrowhawk is on the mend. I've been staying close to home to be there for him. They say the flu season is going to be bad this year, and the flu vaccine is going to be suboptimal. I really hope neither one of us gets it. To that end, I plan to wash my hands obsessively, like a raccoon!

Tonight, we had a fun sushi dinner at Fujiyama with one of the Sparrowhawk's friends from work and his wife. It turns out we have quite a few interests in common, and they have a sense of humor, so we got along very well and enjoyed the evening. He still works with the Sparrowhawk's former boss. Better him than me is all I can say.
