The Sparrowhawk's eye surgery appears to have gone well. It didn't take as long this time because they remembered his sensitivities from before and gave them three doses of lidocaine, and put his eyelids in a clamp right away. Because he has a very strong reflex to close his eyes, and apparently rather strong eyelid muscles, which is not a thing I ever considered before.

He's fairly miserable right now. He can't open the left eye at all, and the right one only a crack. Also, he's in pain, and groggy from the pain medication. So I think we'll just go to bed early and hope he can sleep all night.
