Snowflea of Ember
Dec. 18th, 2018 11:17 pmSo, I have now written 43 Christmas cards. I think this is a personal record. I will do a couple more, now that the Sparrowhawk has obtained the addresses of our in-laws.
There was some dark chocolate left over from the flourless chocolate cake--which, by the way, was super easy to make, except for the part where you fold in the egg whites--always a problem for me because it's so darn ambiguous--like, when is it done? I like things with clearly stated rules. And yet, when I do have clearly stated rules, I always fudge the parameters just to prove I don't HAVE TO do anything. Well, anyway, the point I was trying to make here is that you can melt the leftover chocolate gently in your microwave and put a scoop of ice cream on it, and it is delicious. Making a cake is beside the point. You could just eat the ingredients instead.
We have one more day to complete our preparations, thank goodness. I did make one more phone call today. I called the Duchess to discuss some practical details, and expressed concern for her taking Mother to the pre-op appointment tomorrow. I told her that I had not been able to set things up so we could just come and stay, but I would drive down and do the appointment and drive back up here to finish packing if she needed support. She graciously said that wasn't necessary. So, hopefully we will have time to finish up--mostly.
