PolarBear of Celeste
Jan. 6th, 2019 08:57 pmI must have done something to upset my clock. I couldn't sleep last night until the wee hours. Then I got up at nine, had a shower and a cup of tea, and decided to go back to bed again. The next time I woke up, it was past noon and the day was most definitely half over.
We took the tree down today, always a sad moment. I thought it was a particularly beautiful and vibrant tree this year--but then I always say that!--and I will miss its magical presence and the smell of fir. But if you leave it up until it's all dried out, that's sad in another way. This being Twelfth Night, it was an appropriate moment to bite the bullet. Angels, stars, stockings, and ornaments are packed back in the attic, and the fallen needles are swept away. I retain the right to keep playing Christmas music until February if I deem it necessary, however.
