Cocoon of Bluster

The last day of winter! In fact, at dinner the Sparrowhawk brought me a glass of wine and offered a toast to spring, which he said technically had started one minute previously. He is scientific about these things and times them more precisely than the general announcements. Blue skies and sunshine have inspired us to think about spring cleaning. I changed the sheets on the bed, washed the old set and the shower curtain, and put away other laundry. The Sparrowhawk figured out how to get the freezer drawer out of the refrigerator so he could clean it and the crisper drawer. We went for a walk and heard red-winged blackbirds singing. I only got five hours of sleep last night, and he was tired from the gym yesterday, so we took a nap. I probably could have stayed there all night, but I got up and watched another episode of "The Discovery of Witches."
