BlueDick of Trill
Mar. 23rd, 2019 10:05 pmYesterday, Dr. Nurse texted to say their furnace was fixed. It was a faulty igniter, easily replaced. She invited us to come back and get the promised cup of tea. We had fun catching up, had a chance to see Mr. Dr. Nurse too, and also met their suave black cat. In the evening, we called the Diva, hoping to catch Muffinhead at home and wish him a happy birthday. We had missed him on his actual birthday because of taking a nap and waking up a bit late to call. He was out having dinner with his girlfriend's family, but we got to talk to the Diva for a few minutes. We called Muffinhead on his cell phone and very briefly gave him our good wishes. This made me miss them a lot.
Today was such a beautiful sunny day! The sky was that perfect shade of blue that makes you want to just gaze and gaze into the sky and drink the color in with your eyes. I almost expect my eyes to be blue, with sailing clouds, when I look away, the way your tongue turns color from a popsicle. We had dinner out with our friends from church, then went to Laura's house for dessert. A couple of people who haven't attended in awhile were there, and it was a merry time. We talked about many things, including mushroom foraging and shadow work, and Lisa, who is an edible plant expert and general conservation activist, showed off her SmartPlanet silicon takeout box for leftovers. I was inspired to work on eliminating more plastic and non-recyclables from my life. The not so merry part was that I felt the Sparrowhawk was tired and not quite himself. He had gone on a long Artist's Walk this afternoon, and hadn't had time for a nap. Right now I've got him tucked up with a blanket watching another episode of Queer Eye in KC, and he's reviving.
