That was a lot of driving, but I feel it was worth it. It's so much better to work on projects face to face rather than via phone conference. The chaplain was very helpful, and I hope the Duchess felt supported and reassured that this will be a service that fits Mother and mingles some joy with the grief of the survivors. We have several things to work on, but I think we have it basically sorted out now. After the meeting, we drove to the Duchess's house to pick up a few remaining items that were left over from Mother's last move. I think getting the extra stuff out of her house will help with closure. I had a chance to look at the picture board she's working on, and I think it will be quite magical--a combination of photos and some luminous sketches from Mother's sketchbooks. It really gives a picture of life as she saw it. We ate the sandwiches we had packed and stayed and visited for a bit. That meant we got home later than I originally intended, but we're here now. I think I might go to bed early tonight!
