A minor miracle took place, in the form of back to back thunderstorms that reduced the temperature to livable levels. Nonetheless, we've been lying low and not doing a lot outside for the last couple of days. It's still muggy. And the Sparrowhawk apparently pulled a tendon or something at the gym on Thursday. I keep suggesting that he dial it back a little bit, but he's so proud of pushing himself to the max that he can't help it. This time they were doing squats with a kettlebell, and I suspect that's what may have hurt his knee. Yesterday, we both slept late, and he said he felt a lot better. Today, we didn't sleep late, and ended up taking a nap to crank up the sleep hours to a good level. It seems beneficial, but on the other hand, one doesn't get very much done. We went out to a new Asian restaurant in the neighborhood just to get out of the house. It was tasty and fresh. It looks like a family business. Our waitperson was really sweet, and I saw her taking time out between customers to check on a kid who looks like her little brother. I hope the restaurant will be successful. Kansas and the Diva ran a restaurant for a couple of years, and oh my god it is so much work.

I took a minute to look up a passage from Joy Chant's Red Moon and Black Mountain, because it had been nagging at me that it was very strangely like a similar episode in Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry. Well, sure enough it was. So then, I googled the topic and found this: 9 Ways Guy Gavriel Kay Stole Productively. Well, alrighty then. It's definitely on the list of depressing events to have a random thought that seems interesting, and then find out you're right, BUT dude has already written a whole PhD thesis with this thought in it. But I ended up reading most of Red Moon and Black Mountain again, and that was quite enjoyable.
