Ringtail of Leave

It's been a busy weekend for someone who is still recovering! I'm feeling quite good about the fact that I could do it all. I must be on the road back. I told the flutist that I'd come to play today, because I could see via the email list that it would just be herself, the oboeist, and me. We rehearsed and played five pieces. Several we had done before--although it seems as if the arrangement always ends up slightly different, so I'm sight-reading anyway. But at least I know the tune! We got a couple of compliments from congregation members, and the flutist even complimented me on having very nice intonation where I was playing parallel to the oboeist. We actually work well together and make those little adjustments that are needed. She's such a cheerful, laid-back person that it's easy. Next week will be a trip, because we won't even have a pianist. He'll be on the choir retreat.

It's been a cold, rainy, dark day. I put on my woolly sweater for the first time this year, and lit the candles to brighten up the room. It's hard to believe, but tomorrow the temperature will go up to 80 again! Now I'm really tired and hope I can sleep in tomorrow and wake up to a little sunshine.
