When I woke up this morning, it took me a couple of minutes to wrap my head around the fact that it was light out. I woke up a couple of times in the night, but then I slept till it was morning. Amazing! I had forgotten that was a thing. After the Sparrowhawk tightened the hose connection that the waterproofers hadn't fixed correctly, I did my laundry, callooh, callay. I played the violin, meditated, and did some writing. Yesterday, the Sparrowhawk organized the garage a little more, so the wood man could bring us a load of firewood this morning and stack it in the garage.

It was time for a meeting of the DBs, and no one else volunteered to host. We could not have everyone to dinner again, because our table is still covered with the extra dishes from downstairs, but we suggested that we could meet in a nearby restaurant to eat and then come back to our house for dessert. Five people accepted that idea, so I cut up the Northern Spies and made apple crisp. Alas, only two people joined us at the restaurant. Three people dropped out at the last minute. But it was a fun dinner anyway. This is the second time I tried to eat fish at this restaurant. This time, it wasn't actually bad, it just wasn't good. I can learn from experience . . . I'll never do that again. At our house, we had the first fire of the year, apple crisp and tea, and enjoyed some more conversation. Too bad the rest of them couldn't make it. I have to admit, it's dark out. Very dark and cold. I probably wouldn't have wanted to go out either. It's the advantage of hosting--you have to do more work, but when it's over, you're already at home. I like that part.
