WildTurkey of Ember
Nov. 23rd, 2019 10:24 pmI slept a little late, and when I woke up, BAM, the sun was right there in the window blasting me with light--a sudden epiphany of the deus absconditus of the upper Midwest. I still got going rather slowly. I had that feeling where you have to force yourself to do things because your body is dragging its feet and grumbling "I don't want to." This is never a good sign, but I pulled up my socks and went outside because I couldn't waste the brief sunlight. I finished emptying pots and putting them away, and did enough weeding and raking to fill up four more compost bags. When I came back inside to get a bite to eat, I starting sneezing and being congested, and my poor old bones ached more than usual. Oh good grief, I think I have a cold. I did a little bit of writing, but mostly I just sat around drinking tea and hoping to feel magically better. It hasn't worked so far. I wrote our Maximum Leader and told her I could not play the violin tomorrow. I will miss seeing our amazing young violinist who is visiting from college, where she is studying chemistry AND is in the National Guard as well as being so very talented musically. However, I have to try really hard to get better before we fly away on Monday, and that unfortunately means doing nothing with all my might.
