Myrrh of Ember
Dec. 9th, 2019 09:26 pmYesterday I wasn't in a good enough mood to blog about it. I've been having stomach troubles again for the last couple of days. I went to church because Dragonfly was expecting to meet me there to return the grocery bags she borrowed when she was here on Friday. A potluck and meeting was supposed to happen afterwards, but I had to ask the Sparrowhawk to drop me off at home. Props to me for leaving instead of continuing to make myself miserable. When I got home, my blood pressure was 160/100, which is not good, but is also mystifying. It's been really good since I was sick before, and I have no idea why it zoomed up yesterday. It's better now. I slept badly and my stomach still hurts. The Sparrowhawk took my apple cake to the potluck, and reported that it was all gone before he got to the front of the line. This makes me happy.
This morning I got up way too early. I knew I was going to have to take a nap, but I really wanted to get something done first. We had some coffee, and I got dressed and put shoes on, because experience has taught me that moving heavy objects while barefoot can be problematic. Then we moved the shelves and work table in the basement back where they belong. This involved taking everything off them and then putting it back on. While I was napping, the Sparrowhawk moved all the spare dishes off the dining room table and back to the shelves. So we have a table again! That's progress. When he went to the gym, I thought I might start bringing the storage tubs down to the basement from the guest bedroom. I dragged one of them downstairs. Then I prudently decided that was a job for another day. Too heavy. My poor old body. It was a dark dark day, and rained most of the time. I lit some candles to brighten things up while I was sitting in the living room writing a few words. I also had my blanket and some hot tea and music. Anything to fend off dementors!
