I woke up quite early, but that wasn't a bad thing, because it was still cool out. I was thinking about going for a walk, when I heard the Sparrowhawk moving around upstairs, and decided to wait until he came down so I could have tea with him first. Then I went and walked, just in the nick of time before the sign got high enough to heat things up. Fresh air, deep green scents of the forest path, the sound of green frogs and bullfrogs in the pond. The Sparrowhawk then had a Zoom gym class while I took a shower and put away laundry. I sorted some more pictures and things, and actually threw out a small stack of things that were either too obscure or too poignant to keep. Some storage crates we ordered to put our LPs in finally arrived, months late. The Sparrowhawk spent some time rassling the LPs into them. As it often happens, there were a few errors of measurement and estimation, so the LPs don't ALL fit into the crates, and the crates don't ALL fit into the closet where the LPs had been residing in decrepit cardboard boxes. Some adjustments will have to be made--but not today.

After another day of oatmeal and toast, I started thinking about vegetables. While the Sparrowhawk was moving vinyl, I cut up and steamed some carrots and cabbage, and peeled and boiled all the potatoes that were left in the bag after I discovered and threw out the potato that was going bad, ahem. Then I sauteed the steamed veggies with an onion and added a little butter, some balsamic vinegar, a spoonful of honey, and some assorted spices. I mashed the potatoes. We had some cold chicken in the refrigerator. It was a nice combination, and I'm not TOO uncomfortable after eating it. Perhaps I'm getting better.
