LakeHouse of Zenith
Jul. 15th, 2021 11:45 pmHmm, wouldn't you know I'd forget to check the day names before leaving. Oh well. I'll make them up. We waited for a couple of rain squalls to pass--and in all honesty, I wouldn't have been done packing, watering plants, etc. before then anyway--then left a little later than we planned. The skies were dark and brooding all through the Lower Peninsula, with occasional showers, but on the whole it was tolerable, and just before we reached the Bridge, the sky cleared and was blue and lovely, hurray! I took over the driving just before the Bridge, so I got to drive across it.
So, after a 7+ hour drive, we arrived at the insanely beautiful house in the woods of Mr. and Ms. Sciene. They gave us a ride around the lake in their boat before dinner. It's lovely, but SO FAR AWAY. You can drink the quiet like fresh water, and the scent of the forest breathes over the lake from the water's edge. We went out on the deck and looked at stars after a late dinner. There was a bit of a haze in the air, and the half moon was bright as a spotlight, but we saw a number of old friends, plus Saturn, the ISS, and Alpheratz, which is usually concealed by trees where we live.
