Elderberry of Flourish
Aug. 30th, 2021 09:09 pmThe temperature has come down a bit, though not in a dramatic way--and without a storm, which means no rain, so I'll have to water my plants again tomorrow. I apparently didn't sleep as well as I thought--Fitbit says it was less than 6 hours--but I woke up late and had to leave the house in a tearing hurry without a shower or anything, because I had was meeting Dragonfly for meditation and lunch. Yes . . . and I was just as disorganized as that sentence. I had a nice time with Dragonfly, who showed me around all the amazing improvements that she and the Minister have made during their summer vacation time. She also gave me three tomatoes from her rooftop garden. They're so pretty I wish I could paint them, but I think they'll get eaten first. The Sparrowhawk went to the gym later, and I went for a walk for the first time since we got back from the lake. Tolerable, but still too hot. The sun was low enough that even small trees had long shadows, and there was a little breeze. As I approached the pond, I saw a dark shadow slipping through the reeds. I thought it was the heron, so I approached the pond, and he flew up into the trees on the far side. I was sorry I disturbed him, but happy to get a good look.
