Snowflea of Ember
Dec. 17th, 2021 02:53 pmPosting in the interstices, as They Have Begun to Arrive and I'm not sure how many posting spoons I will have left in the next couple of weeks of evenings. At the moment, the Sparrowhawk is having his piano lesson, and Tron and the Lumberjack have departed to do some errands and replace some necessary items that didn't get packed. They're also going to do me a big favor and buy the coat for a five-year-old that we said we'd get for the gift roster at church. They have to visit a department store anyway, and I think Tron has a much better fashion sense for what five year olds like these days than I do!
They arrived at 8:30 last night, and we had the pizza ready! Although I did not partake, because I knew it would kill my stomach at that time of night. It was so amazing to see them again, only ten days after the wedding! We're having a laid-back day. The two of them had some work to do online. The Lumberjack helped the Sparrowhawk load four boxes of books into the car and drop them off at the library book sale depository, while picking up the copy of "Rendezvous with Rama" that the Sparrowhawk reserved for his reading pleasure while here. I've ordered some last-minutes gifts, but apparently I had one of them shipped to myself by clicking the wrong button. SIGH. I have written to ask that they change this, but who knows. I also (FINALLY) vacuumed our bedroom. I must say, there is a certain amount of irony in finding oneself vacuuming dust off a thing labeled "wood furniture maintenance kit." I am not the target audience for such things. I also gave Greenwing, the Nipper's stuffed dragon, a good vacuuming. Greenwing was the Nipper's constant companion for many years, but has retired to live at the Ismo Home for Retired Toys at this point. I wondered if Raptor might want to play with him, so I dusted him. Vacuuming the dragon doesn't seem completely out of character for me. I do hate vacuuming in general, however. I also sorted out some bits and pieces for Christmas stockings. And vowed, as I always do, to start working on this much earlier next year--like in SEPTEMBER. When it's 90 degrees out and Christmas is but a distant chiming on a faraway wind.
Yesterday's early-morning PT made me tired and achy. Working on my right hip has caused my left hip and left knee to be very sore and stiff. It's a system. And sometimes working on one part of it only leads to something else getting out of whack. I plan to keep at it, however.
