Another day of misery endured=one day closer to getting well. On the last two nights, by this time, I was running a significant fever. Tonight it's maybe a degree. So that's an improvement. The stomach pain was bad all day, but tonight it has subsided a little. That's probably because I didn't eat anything today. I had a cup of tea, and that caused pain. So I ate about two tablespoons full of ice cream, hoping that might be soothing. It's okay, I guess. I had a nap this afternoon. The benefit of being sick is that I don't have anxious thoughts. Depressed thoughts, to be sure, such as "When will this end?" and "I'm so tired of it!" But as far as actually worrying about anything, my brain just brushes it off. "We have bigger fish to fry," it says. It's too bad I can't bottle some of that for when I recover. But one of the signs of recovery is that I start to fuss about things again. So far, it's not happening. My siblings have reported in, and they are all testing negative, which is a great relief to my mind.

The appliances are more easily repaired than I am! The dishwasher repairman came on Wednesday, and found a tiny piece of plastic obstructing the drain, in a spot the Sparrowhawk was unable to see when trying to clear it. So all's well there. The refrigerator guy came today, and his tale was more complicated. Apparently there's nothing actually wrong with the refrigerator that can be fixed. It will work just fine, but it will ultimately freeze up again, because of a defect in design. Apparently everyone knows this, and the repair people have been forbidden to try to repair it. Instead, he will contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer will probably not replace the device, because it's too old, but they will offer us some amount of compensation, and then we can replace it ourselves. That's nice, because it means we don't have to find a substitute immediately. We can wait until refrigerators are more available.
