WindToft of Leave
Oct. 30th, 2022 08:02 pmForgot to mention that I had 14,000 steps yesterday. The day before, only 11,000. Today, of course, a mere 4000+, because all we did was stroll down the river a little way before we had to return home. We saw a big flock of sandhill cranes flying over the river, uttering their unique cries that the bird books call "bugling," but which sound to me more like a combination of yodel, gargle, and bark.
Alas, this morning we went to check out, and Miss B. was not at the desk. Her colleague told us that she was devastated not to see us, but she'd had to go to the ER because of a new problem that showed up. We're very concerned about her, and not sure how we will find out if she's okay, but we will make efforts.
We're both pretty wiped out. It's funny how, on the one hand, our idea of fun involves wearing ourselves out, and on the other hand, what wears us out now is what would once have been a walk in the park. In any case, it was a lovely weekend, and we got home in time for me to Zoom with the Nonesuch and Moonmoth, also a pleasure.
