Another night composed of two separate naps. At the end of the second one, I had a dream in which I was having some trouble. I had to drive myself to school. I had a truck I was planning to use. It had one of those truck bed roof racks that extends over the cab. Some young people had put a big pallet of hay up there to use as a sleeping platform. I was disgruntled because I couldn't drive it that way. I went looking for the miscreants to make them take it down, but had no luck finding them. I also realized I'd had no breakfast and couldn't really spend a whole day at school without food. I walked into a room where some whole grain bread, sliced meat, and organic peanut butter had been set out on a table. I didn't see anyone in charge, so I decided to help myself, and was holding a sticky peanut butter and meat sandwich in my fingers, preparing to wolf it down "Army style" as my father used to say. At that moment, Richard Dean Anderson and his producer strolled in. It turned out he was making a nature documentary about golden eagles, and this was supposed to be the craft service table for his production. And here I was, messily appropriating his sandwich. I must say, he had lost a lot of weight, and looked happy. One of the golden eagles they'd been filming was flying around, and I held my arm out to him. Both of them immediately shouted at me to stop it, because if the eagle landed on me, he'd claw my arm. But I kept my arm up, because how often in life do you even get a chance to be clawed by an eagle? However, I woke up before the eagle landed.

Well, as you can imagine, the rest of the day was a bit of an anticlimax. The Sparrowhawk went off to his money-counting job. Queenie had another doctor's appointment, so I had time to do kitchen cleanup and put away laundry before she called. I had a long chat with her. She's still having bad problems, even after the surgery that was supposed to fix it. You know a surgeon is at his wit's end when he suggests probiotics. Which she can't take anyway, because she's tried it already, and they make her sick. Then I made a rather pathetic stab at some writing. The Sparrowhawk went to the gym, and I marinated and roasted some brussels sprouts and roasted a ham with potatoes and variously colored organic carrots.
