MountainDaisy of Flourish
Aug. 29th, 2023 08:40 pmWell, the good news is that I think I have covid again, she said sarcastically. I say "think" because the somewhat elderly test we had showed a tiny, almost invisible little line. I thought I might just be hallucinating, but the Sparrowhawk saw it too, kind of. Then he went and got me a fresh, perky test kit, and I tested myself again. And there was no line at all. So, one positive (sort of) and one negative. However, I feel like crap in a very specific, evil way that only covid can generate, so I think I'd better err on the side of caution. That meant I had to tell Madame I would not be seeing her tomorrow. She doesn't believe in covid, but one must still try to protect her. I don't know where I caught it--perhaps at the mall on Thursday. But everyone else seems all right so far.
This is certainly not what I had in mind for the week. I've been forced to give up and do nothing on purpose. Just surviving and attempting to minimize the misery is the best I can do. Bah. While sitting around, I did succeed in polishing off one notebook, so now I can have a brand new one. That's a bright spot on the horizon. I had just started weeding my garden, and now I'll have to put that off for awhile longer. On my dining room table, there are two battery-powered lanterns and three jars of sauerkraut. It looks as if I'm becoming a prepper. They're only waiting to be put away. The lanterns are left over from the storm, and the sauerkraut was given to us by a friend who made 72 jars and needs help. I would think so. Anyone who made that much sauerkraut most certainly needs some kind of help. I'd like to stop coughing and sleep for a million years.
