PondTaro of Shadow
Oct. 30th, 2023 10:03 pmI was looking out the window this morning as the wind was blowing and leaves were pattering down all around. "Pattering" seems like a nice gentle sound, but actually they were hitting pretty hard, thwappity-thwap-thwap. Then little bits of something else started falling through the air. Holy crap, it was SNOW. Of course it stopped pretty soon, and never stuck to the ground, but still. I'm not ready. It's chilly out--never got out of the forties all day. I spent the entire morning inside, on the phone with Queenie, who was downloading about their trip to Slovenia.
Not much to report after that, either. We met the DBs for dinner some way north of here, at a very nice brewery with a great view. It was great to visit with them again and hear all the news. This brewery had an adorable beer list. I'm a sucker for good names. There was a beer titled "The Duke Says Nein." I had to have some of that. Also salmon with gnocchi and cremini mushrooms. It was worth driving up there, but honestly we were very happy to get home again. I'm like an old person now! With my tiny wee 5-oz. glaschen of Bier, and putting half my dinner portion in a box because it's too much, and happily curling up with my blankie again at home. Sigh.
