Nov. 2nd, 2024 10:09 pmA slightly better day, though I'm definitely out of gas now. The anti-cough pearl worked pretty well and let me sleep until almost six. I lay awake for an hour, started to get up, looked back at the bed and plonked again. Lucky for me, I actually fell asleep again for awhile. Unfortunately, the coughing started right up again as soon as I was vertical. I'm hoping that it's really getting better and I'm not just having delusions.
I almost got outside today, but the timing didn't quite work out. I sent out the Secret Santa cards for the kids. This is the earliest I've ever done them, I think. I finished my re-read of Dante's Inferno and went to the book club, where we amazingly blitzed through discussion of the final 12 cantos and actually emerged from Hell! This is a weight off my mind, as I didn't want to move into the holiday season still becalmed in Hell. Last night, the Sparrowhawk also finished reading "Lord of Thunder" by Andre Norton aloud. It was quite a relief to get through that one, as well. I didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered.
