Dec. 9th, 2024 10:06 pmI had a rather busy day and it's late and there's another one tomorrow, so no time for much more than a mere precis. I had my Monday morning chat with Queenie. Then the trash hauling service with the bigger truck came to haul away the two giant brush piles left over from the buckthorn project. This wasn't exactly my responsibility, since the Sparrowhawk got home from money counting in time to supervise, but it was a distraction. I thought about grocery shopping, but didn't have time to plan my campaign and by the time I started thinking about it, I didn't really have time to do shopping either. I used the time I had to take a not very long walk. It was a mild day, with a gentle mist rising from the wet ground after last night's rain. When I got home, I saw the weather forecast and thought it was a good thing I went out today. From now on the temperature will be headed downward. It might snow Wednesday.
Since I didn't shop, I was perplexed about dinner. I thawed out some more of the leftover turkey and broth, and made a thing with onions, peas, carrots, and parsley in gravy with the leftover turkey, with noodles I made to accompany another thing, and broccoli. I thought it was sort of TV-dinner-ish, but the Sparrowhawk said it was delicious. All hail the power of leftovers. We had a Zoom with our other book club friends. I thought I might have time to mix up gingerbread dough to chill for later, but nah. This is not that day.
