As the second day of the rest of my life, this one had a few deficiencies. The Sparrowhawk set out to go to his speech therapy appointment. Soft and slurred speech can be a result of Parkinson's, so they brush up their exercise every so often. However, he returned to the house, because the car wouldn't start. Provokingly, we had an appointment to take the car to the dealer tomorrow morning, because the check engine light had been coming on. Thus began a round of phone calls, first to get a tow, then to rent a car. The tow truck claimed it was coming and then didn't come. Time went on. the insurance company sent a message, hours later, to say the tow had been canceled. The Sparrowhawk called the insurance company to find out what happened. They said that since he had only called to request air in his tires, they'd canceled the deal because they don't cover that. A certain amount of WTF took place, very politely on the Sparrowhawk's end, since he did not want air in his tires and had never said so. Supposedly the tow truck will come early tomorrow, and take the car to the dealer to find out what's wrong now. Meanwhile a lot of time and patience was wasted.

Frustrations occurred on my end of the day as well. Among other things, I learned that Madame is now being treated for pneumonia. Mademoiselle sent some frustrated screen shots of conversations with the facility. A chest x-ray was supposedly ordered, but she never heard about it. My BP medications are lowering my blood pressure all right, but once again they are interfering with my quality of life otherwise. I must decide what to do about this. It's cold. And snowing. However, it's not so bad. We have insurance, and can get the car towed, and we can afford to rent a car, although we don't want to.
