I woke up way too early again, and although I inserted myself back under the blankets again just before dawn and got a little more sleep, I was not well pleased to get up (again) so late. Thanks a lot, daylight savings time! But it was a beautiful day and we didn't have any obligations, so we had a lovely walk in the sunshine. We walked through the little woods, looking for signs of spring wildflowers, but it's still too early. We saw three sandhill cranes flying very high overhead, and heard their call. In the evening, we had such a nice Zoom with the Diva, who sometimes calls us now just to say hello. We appreciate that very much. She gave us news of Muffinhead and Angelbaby, who are both fine, and we just chatted about funny things her preschool class is doing, and her theater exploits. Proper accompaniments for pulled pork. News of our days. We got a brief glimpse of Kansas in the background. And now the week begins again. Maybe it will be a better one. I'm cautiously hopeful because the inexplicable downturn of recent days seems to be taking an equally inexplicable turn for the better. It's very comforting that spring seems to be arriving on schedule, just when I thought it could never happen. Last week there were no daffodil shoots poking out of the ground. This week there are. They know something I don't.
