RingedPlover of Trill

When I thought about what to post about, I couldn't come up with anything. What the heck have I been doing, I inquired of myself. I talked to Queenie this morning, but for less time than usual, because she was on her way to Blue Ridge where she will wait out the renovation of her kitchen. The whole process is getting on her last nerve, so she and the Fireman decided a brief vacation would be timely. I thought I'd get a lot done, but I guess I spent more time than expected chatting to the Sparrowhawk over breakfast. The sun was out, so I experienced a wash of optimism early in the day. I usually pay for this by nightfall with disillusionment. In this case, disillusionment (yet again) about my ability to get much done. I did some laundry, put away some laundry, and actually did a bit of writing, or at least writing about writing, also known as making notes on something I might write.

Then I spent another unexpected period talking to my friend in Minnesota, who recently had rather intensive surgery on her neck and spine. She has recovered to the point where she can speak without too much discomfort, and there is pent-up demand. Much venting. She had the TV on rather loudly in the background, so I got a double whammy. I warmed up some dinner, and moved laundry from the washer to the dryer, and then the Sparrowhawk came home. I gave up and watched Jeopardy, and scorned the contestants for not knowing the answers to things that were SO OBVIOUS. (Overlooking all the things I didn't know, because really, who cares about such nonsense anyway.) Then we watched House Hunters International, in which a family of six moved to Poland. I also scorned them and their choices. People on TV are handy, because I can judge them and nobody cares. But I forgave them, because they picked the house with an indoor swimming pool, which just seemed like such an astounding thing to find in one's rental house in Kracow that I was all for it. What kind of lunatic would pass that up!
