Today: snow! It actually stayed on the ground, though not for long, because it's supposed to rain tonight. In fact, I can hear it raining now. In the afternoon, I put on some baroque trumpet music, and between the music and the falling snow, I had actual flashbacks to an earlier time. I'm feeling horribly grumpy for no good reason. As they say, one excuse is as good as another. I'm not cross with any of the people I love--just with myself and with things in general. The day was not all bad. We made a foray to the bookstore. They only allow 50 people inside at any given time--although we've never been there when they were busy enough to turn us away--and there' a guardian at the door, at a desk behind a plexiglass shield, who makes sure you have a mask on and that you've sanitized your hands with the big bottle of sanitizer provided. If you pick up something and don't buy it, you put it on one of the designated tables to be cleansed before they put it back. We bought Advent calendars, a jigsaw puzzle, and two toys for the church toy store. They set it up like a real store so parents can have the pleasure of shopping and choosing something they are sure their kid will like. We also bought a couple of books while we were at it. When we came out, the snow was falling thickly.

We're trying to clear out food that's already in the pantry or refrigerator, in anticipation of leftovers on Thursday. Tonight we finished off a package of hot dogs, the broccoli, and some beans. Wouldn't it be nice if things from the past could be disposed of as easily as items left in the refrigerator? Compost means never having to say you're sorry!

i'm not liking this venn diagram
