ismoI woke up too early this morning because my stomach was bothering me. I was up long before the sun. But there was an upside. Yesterday, I thought I'd lost access to all my LiveJournal archives, because they wanted me to reset my password, but I couldn't do that without getting an email link, and the email went to an address I never use any more, and that email wouldn't accept my password. Having nothing better to do in the wee hours, I finally retrieved the correct email password from memory's well, re-authenticated my email, reset my LJ password, et voila.
After a cup of tea with the Sparrowhawk, I had to go back to bed. Sadly, it didn't really make my stomach feel any better. I got up again, had a piece of toast, and spent a couple of hours reading and thinking about how to construct this story I have to finish by the new year. Then I started work on what I had planned to do first thing in the morning--pie. I made two batches of pie crust and put them in the refrigerator to chill while I mixed up the pumpkin. While the pumpkin pie was cooking, I peeled all the rest of those Northern Spy apples and mixed them with cinnamon and sugar, and rolled out two more pie crusts, so by the time the pumpkin pie was done, the apple pie was ready to go into the oven. I washed all the pots and pans, and then sauteed the celery and onions so it will be ready to go when I mix up the stuffing tomorrow. The pies look very excellent. I hope my stomach will be better tomorrow so I can enjoy the fruits of my labors, but I will find a way to enjoy a bite of pie come what may. We watched the Amazing Race episode from last week, where they go to Kazakhstan. I love Kazakhstan. I always wanted to go to Mongolia, which is right next door. I envied them because they got to visit Alma Ata, where it believed that the very first apple tree was domesticated!
