ismoFeeling very grumpy because I'm still wrestling with my mother's health care. I can't even get them to give her Tylenol fer god's sake. I will say just one more thing about that: if you have a voicemail message that claims all calls will be returned within "sixty to ninety minutes," and then a person calls at 11:30 am and 4:30 pm, and then that person calls again at 6 pm and has never received a callback, you have a problem. You might want to change your voicemail, because it's not truthful. I plan to further explicate this in a letter to people in charge, once I get the Tylenol situation straightened out, which will require me to make however many phone calls are necessary to get hold of the doctor and have her resend the order that the assisted care facility apparently didn't get. Again.
We voted today. We were 225 and 226 at our local polling place. There were no political offices in question, just some millages for school, library, and bus service, which we voted YES on. People in the area have been getting fake text messages claiming to be people they know who want them to vote no. Also robocalls with fake statistics trying to induce them to vote no. It's amazing what stratagems some people will employ to deny basic services.
We barbecued for what will probably be the last time this year. It's only in the 40s, but by building a really big heap of charcoal, the Sparrowhawk made it hot enough to cook meat. A cold front is coming on Friday. Our wood man brought us a nice load of maple and oak. I'm looking forward to more fires this year, since the Sparrowhawk will be around to enjoy them.
