ismoFeeling cranky and uninteresting. Have decided to blame the weather. A big system is hanging fire to the southwest and may eventually deign to trail its skirts over us, to mix a metaphor. The weather advisory: Mixed precipitation . . . light glazing of ice possible. Not that I care. I'm not going anywhere. I fear this is a symptom of age: basing one's news on the weather report. It's nothing new for me, though. Exchanging weather reports is one of the social customs of my people and always has been.
Yesterday, we took a walk, but it was cold. Today it was cold and grey. We got up late and didn't bother. I made some oatmeal cookies. I didn't think they came out right, but the Sparrowhawk likes them, which is the main thing. I excavated a rather scary poem from my old notebook strata and transcribed it into the archives. Now watching baking. Just looking at all those cakes is very relaxing, probably more so than eating them would be.
