Perversely, Wednesday seems to be the day on which I read the least. I went off to the store and picked up some groceries. Then I crossed the street to the Rite Aid, where I looked for colored "grass" to pack the Easter candy in. The same lady was presiding who was there back when I used to go in there all the time to pick up things like hearing aid batteries for my mother. Easter grass has been strangely scarce this year, but she helped me find some. It was nice to see her again. We exchanged some chat about grandchildren and candy.

It seems unfair that the Sparrowhawk, who has not a drop of the Irish in his blood, should be the one to cook the St. Patrick's Day dinner. But colcannon is a specialty of his, so I let him do it. I went out for a quick walk. It was warmer than yesterday. I passed a neighbor who was out puttering in her yard and had a brief but pleasant conversation. Between her and the clerk, that was more face to face talk with people I'm not married to than I usually have in a day.

We enjoyed our dinner and glass of Killian's Red for me and a Guinness for him, watched an episode of The Equalizer, and worked on the demon puzzle while listening to more Irish music. I'd prefer a Car Bomb to be honest, but it would probably have blown up my stomach. Anyway, I don't think they make them around here. It's more of a Philly thing.
