I was up briefly in the middle of night, and the clouds had blown away so the full moon shone out high in the sky, and poured its radiance in through the window to leave a pool of light on the floor. I always feel that the moon is very companionable in the darkness. When you can see it! In Michigan, that is a matter of luck.

I had a Zoom visit and meditation with Dragonfly. After that, the Sparrowhawk was working on the jigsaw puzzle, so I indulged him by eating my lunchtime snack at the table and putting in a few more pieces along with him. Then I made a batch of bread. I decided to use the old Robert Farrar Capon recipe for Cuban Bread that's in The Supper of the Lamb. That was one of the first cookbooks we owned, and it was a good influence on us when we were young and poor. I haven't made that bread in literally years, so I thought it would be nice to revisit. It came out really well--a nice crunchy crust and a well-risen, soft textured inside. When it came out of the oven, we had one of the Sparrowhawk's favorite treats, open face tomato sandwiches on warm bread. The Sparrowhawk made chicken and cashew stir fry for dinner. After dinner, there was still plenty of light for us to go for a walk. I folded and put away laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, and packed up the Easter candy--five boxes this year, because Muffinhead is away at college and has to have his own box.
