CollaredPika of Bliss
Apr. 22nd, 2021 10:13 pmI went to get my hair cut this morning. I was driving east, toward the sun, which illuminated some very dramatic clouds. First it started snowing, and then it became something more like mini-hail: little icy pellets rattling down all around. "Is it going to do this all day?" my stylist asked when she came to open the door for me. This place used to be sewed up as tight as some government facility. You had to text them and then they would come to the door and buzz you in, but only if you had an appointment and a mask. They're a little more casual now, but it's still very controlled. I had a nice chat with my stylist, who is more like a friend after all the years I've been visiting her. On the way home, the sky had cleared and all was sunny and blue. It was still pretty cold though, with a stiff breeze.
While I was visiting with my stylist, I told her we had made a fire in the fireplace yesterday, because it seemed so cold. She was very jealous, and as I was leaving, she said I had to make another fire today, because she didn't have a fireplace and wanted to dream about it. When I told the Sparrowhawk about that, he immediately built another fire and we enjoyed it for the rest of the afternoon. When he went to the gym, I took a walk. It was pretty hard to woo myself away from the fireside and out into the cold, but once I was there, it was nice enough. Because it was so cold and close to sunset, all the flowers had folded up, so I won't say anything about them. The lovely pastel colors are stealing into the trees, though, in a mist of green, pink, and pale yellow.
