ismoThinking about weather--no hurricanes here, but it's still hot and muggy. The Weather Chief Emeritus says this may be the last day of it, and it will be cooler tomorrow. Normally, there's a big thunderstorm when it changes that fast, but tonight, the Chief says not.
Me: "Ff--I mean, good heavens, how in the world will that happen?"
The Sparrowhawk (giving me a disturbed look): "What?"
Me: " I said FUCK IT, HOW THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN?"
Him (looks relieved): "Oh, okay. I was afraid something had happened to you."
Me: (wailing) "I'M TRYING TO STOP CURSING SO MUCH BUT IT'S NOT WORKING."
If you got the impression that capslock gets stuck in the on position quite often in my head, you'd be right. A little self-mockery is all I got to amuse you with tonight.
The Sparrowhawk bravely walked over to the Orthodox church where we vote when it's voting time to get some takeout from their annual Greek Festival. They were out of most food items, but he got two gyros and a veggie plate that we shared so we each got some green beans, tomato salad, and rice. Normally, it's a fun thing with music and stuff that we like to attend in person. This year it seemed too hot. One of our friends from the UU church got heat stroke while driving a school bus last week. It was 115 degrees in the bus. Her temperature went up to 106 before they got her to the ER. I'm just so grateful to have power and not be in a hurricane, I can't even. I hope the Chief is right about no thunderstorms.
