BlackGuillemot of Shadow
Oct. 13th, 2021 09:44 pmThinking I was fine, or perhaps just trying to prove it, I went off to the grocery store for various things that had been depleted while I was hors de combat. The grocery store parking lot was abuzz with busy people: troops of school kids with their backpacks, going to get lunch snacks, old folks moving slowly toward Old People's Discount Day, a garbage truck lumbering up the driveway to park so the driver could get lunch. Once inside, I saw even more people, including lines of landscapers and construction workers in the deli, looking for sandwiches and prepacked meals. It's kind of cheerful to see them all, but I ended up skipping some of the things I wanted to buy, because too many people, couldn't find, got tired and went home. I was pretty wobbly and cross by the time I got there. I put the things that needed freezing in the freezer, and then sat down and ate a bowl of soup before dealing with the rest of it. Then it was time for tea and more John Carter. I saw Jupiter and Saturn glimmering near the waxing half moon after dark--but no mysterious rays drew me thither!
