I've just been finishing up my outline. Which is now about 8,000 words of mostly showing not telling, because this is what happens when I try to write an "outline." I have to be able to see things in my head, and then I take notes on them. I'm going to give my editor the option of requesting a condensed version, but I figured, why go to the trouble of creating that if he doesn't need it. I'm hoping he'll be swept away by this version. It took HOURS just to type it. This is really hard to do with only half my vision. I was up quite late last night.

I had my one-week eye checkup today, and everyone seems pleased with the results, so full speed ahead to getting my other eye rectified a week from tomorrow. The doc says yes, some drug store reading glasses should work just fine to fix whatever deficits remain. My only complaint: it took an hour and a half of MY time to get 5-10 minutes of HIS time. Yes, people, I did notice even though you split up my waiting time into three different rooms. It's still an hour and a half, and that's not an acceptable ratio. Not that anyone cares what I think about it . . . .

The Sparrowhawk got some really great paczkis (pronounced poonch-keys). Raspberry, berries and cream, and Bailey's. The berries and cream was so delicious. So, we celebrated Mardi Gras sedately with paczkis for breakfast, cheeseburgers for dinner (with some broccoli to mitigate them, because I'm not completely nuts) and a little ice cream with strawberries for dessert. Not much of a carnival, but I was still hard at work up until now. I am giving up ice cream for Lent, except for medicinal purposes. Sometimes I have to take a little for my stomach's sake.
