I finally had a day when my attention was not required elsewhere. I scrubbed the bathtub, hand washed some shirts with intractable spots, put a load of laundry in, vacuumed the bedroom, and dusted and put away some things. I wrote a little more. The Sparrowhawk wanted to take me out to dinner, but at the last minute, I wasn't sure I could handle it. Rain check. I established conclusively that two of the places where my presence is desired for a one-time only event are mutually incompatible. Not without some kind of Herculean effort that I don't feel like making. I am now ruminating about that and hoping I will feel okay about saying no in the near future.
