ElmBark of Bliss
May. 13th, 2022 08:30 pmI've never seen such big, lush-looking white violets in the back yard. The dandelions are quite grand this year, too. We spent some pleasant time sitting out there today. It was a beautiful day. The Sparrowhawk went to the gym and brought home some doughnuts. The trillium is blooming. Something happened to it last year and the big clump I had got kind of dug up. So now there are two clumps, and they're smaller, but still blooming. I hope eventually they will spread. I have one each of the yellow trillium and the purple trillium, too. And a nice clump of May apples that is definitely thriving and getting bigger. So I'm hopeful. My raised beds are still in a state of rack and ruin, but maybe in the next couple of days I'll find the energy to do something about them. I had a little bit of laundry to dry, and it seemed stupid to crank up the dryer on a day like today. I carried my little drying rack from the basement onto the porch and put my stuff on it, and by the end of the day, it was dry. Funny how that works. Another 500+ words, some email . . . . The problem is that writing time now coincides with a powerful desire for a nap! I fought it off with stern resolve. I mean, really, you can't have your own writing put you to sleep.
