It's been a low-key Father's Day. Yesterday, the Sparrowhawk started feeling a little under the weather. His stomach has been been iffy, and he has needed some extra rest. But he has his extra-colorful flowers that the kids sent, and some great Father's Day cards. Yesterday, we went to the farmers market. Last week, it was super busy, so this week, we thought we'd try going early, between eight and nine. Ha. One look at the line of cars going into the parking lot, and we turned around and parked behind the bakery as we did last week. We got some more strawberries, but haven't been able to eat them yet, because they're not the best thing for an uneasy stomach. Tomorrow, for sure. The one thing the Sparrowhawk wanted was some cherry pie. The people who sell pasties also had mini-pies this week, so I got some of those for him. Tonight he was able to have a sliver. The rest of the treats have to wait.

We went to church downtown again, because they were having a special Corpus Christi service, at which they sang the Haydn Missa Brevis. The music was quite a treat. They have a really good choir, or a couple of choirs, since they also have a chant schola which sang some beautiful things, including the Sequence for the feast day. I couldn't help but think of my father, as well, and how he would have enjoyed it. After that, it was pretty much taking it easy for the rest of the day. The kids all called to wish the Dad a happy father's day, which was a treat for him.

I have a large pile of assorted clothing, awaiting selection. I keep telling myself it's only for a week, so it really doesn't matter . . . . Also I'm over 18,000 words now, so I'm closing on my pre-trip goal.
