I woke up (for the final time) just at sunrise. I could actually see the sun! Pale gold light streamed through a gap in the clouds to glisten on the snow covered trees and tint the eastern sky a fragile pink. It was great while it lasted. Pretty soon it was dark and snowing again. I hadn't been sleeping very well, because Idaho was burning down. People kept running around trying to move their campsites and things to better locations. I kept telling them, "No, you don't understand. We need to get OUT of Idaho." We had a Zoom with Deb and the Prussian earlier than usual, because the Sparrowhawk's gym was canceled. Then I had thought about going for a walk. However, it was snowing, and 26 degrees, feels like 16. And I hadn't had anything to eat yet. So I ate some toast with smoked cod. Tron gave me a couple of cans of smoked fish for my birthday because she knows I have a weird fondness for it. Then I worked on the book for a couple of hours. Slowly, slowly . . . I have to finish this consarned thing by Tuesday! The Sparrowhawk went to his book club, and I got a call from Master J in Kansas. That's about it. Not a very inspiring day, but it is what it is. I am sleepy. This is what happens when it's dark all day and you spend the night in a conflagration.
