I keep getting too sleepy to post at night! Yesterday I actually fell asleep for a few minutes in the afternoon, which is unusual for me. It's not as if anything of surpassing interest happened in the last few days, so you're not missing anything. (Of course, that's just what I WOULD say, if I were an intergalactic spy who had just gone through a stargate and been unavoidably delayed by combat and intrigue on the other side, and if I were now trying to resume my cover by pretending to lead a sedate and boring life. Shapeshifting spies all know that the form of an old lady is the best possible hiding place. It's even better than pretending to be a child, because there is quite a literature of uncanny and precocious children, but hardly anyone expects an old lady to break out in powers.)

Today, for a miracle, I had no appointments and obligations. I puttered around the house, amazing myself with how little I get done even without interruptions. I did some bathroom cleaning, sorting and filing, and rewashed a batch of sheets that it turned out had been sitting in the washing machine for a couple of days not being dried. I ran them through the dryer as well. The Sparrowhawk had not been feeling 100% since coming home from the gym last night. I think he may have overdone it there. They did some roll-ups that left him feeling queasy, so he had not eaten dinner, and didn't want breakfast/lunch either. He took a nap. I took some chicken out of the freezer, thinking I would make chicken and rice for him. That usually suits me when my stomach is unhappy. However, then we got a text from his brother Fritz, to say that he and his wife would be coming through town on their way back from visiting their daughter and grandkids, and would we like to meet them for dinner. The Sparrowhawk was feeling better by then, so I put the chicken back in the refrigerator, and we had a pleasant hour or two over dinner. This particular restaurant, a favorite with us, has a soup, salad, and/or sandwich combo. They always have lobster bisque and tomato basil soup, both very good, but tonight's third soup was a spicy soup with the flavor of tikka masala, topped with rice. It was really good. And by the way, I now at long last have a good blog name for Mrs. Fritz! Nothing quite seemed to suit her. Tonight she mentioned that Fritz and the Sparrowhawk's uncle, who taught at the college she attended, always called her Trinx, even though no one else did. So now she can be Trinx, a name all unto herself, instead of being relegated to Mrs. Fritz! I think this is a charming nickname.

It has been unusually clear out, so yesterday and today we saw the planetary alignment, even though Jupiter and Mercury had gone below the horizon. It was still very cool to see the Moon, Mars, and Venus all lined up in the frosty air.
