SalmonFry of Flourish
Sep. 2nd, 2023 09:51 pmGetting better, but slowly. I'm soooo tired of it. I'm continuing to incarcerate myself for the weekend, even though I'm pretty sure I'm no longer contagious. I still have coughing spasms, and I don't want to make people uncomfortable, much less actually expose them. So no church, no visiting friends, no farmers market. The Sparrowhawk very kindly did the food shopping. He said it was kind of fun, because he hadn't done it in awhile.
I had another tormentious night of waking up repeatedly with coughing, joint pain, and various other discomforts. Oy. I hate the dark time. I did get to admire the light of the blue moon gleaming on the floor in the deep of the night. I wondered if the blue moonlight had magical properties. Nothing happened, but the light itself was certainly magical. I dreamed I had arranged to drive a coal train to Ypsilanti, in order to get home on the cheap. I did all right with driving it straight ahead, fairly slowly. But when I got there, I realized I couldn't just leave the train on the tracks while I got my car from the parking lot and drove off. It had a very complicated throttle, and I couldn't figure out how to reverse it onto a siding. It occurred to me that perhaps I had bitten off more than I could chew . . . . I also dreamed I was planning Thanksgiving dinner. The Sparrowhawk wanted to invite a colleague who would be on his own for the holidays. Sure, I said, but doesn't he have three little girls? We'd have to invite them too . . . wonder if I have any pumpkin . . . . And I showed some exchange students how to get to the grocery store, and gave them directions to the lake. Trains, dinner, exchange students . . . all in a night's work. The Sparrowhawk thinks it's a good sign that I'm working hard again in my dreams. Meh. I want to be able to do something when I'm awake!
