I continue to be weirdly tired and moving slowly, even though I got a fairly decent amount of sleep last night. I indulged in a Zantac and it seemed to actually work. It was a beautiful day, sunny, windy, and 65 degrees! I went out for a walk. It was lovely to be out, but slightly disappointing. My legs started out feeling better, but that pesky knee does still hurt, and there's a general feeling of being too old. I went over the new bridge to the other side, and on finding they had mowed the brush by the dam, I walked across the top of the dam and made my way back to the real path by wriggling through the thickets on the other side. Then you have to go up a small slope and step over a line of large rocks to get back up onto the path. I had one of those annoying moments when my brain told my body to get up there, and my body answered primly, like Alexa when asked for a non-existent music channel, "I'm sorry, I can't get that for you." I do hate those moments. I got up and over the barrier anyway.

I did a few desultory chores, not at all the brisk series of accomplishments I had in mind. Then I moved the lawn chairs back outside so we could sit in the sun for the first time this year! The umbrella that shades our little table had a vane broken in a windstorm last year, and is rather bashed up. There was wind again today, and it twirled and whirled and flapped. I had just finished assuring myself that it was fine and I should not be such a fuss-budget, when a puff of wind made a sail of the flapping fabric, and it turned the table over, flinging all our devices onto the ground. I just managed to save my favorite tea mug from crashing to a sad end. After setting things back in order, we decided it was time to relinquish the bright world and go back inside. I cooked some panko-coated fried chicken strips, mashed potatoes, mushrooms with chopped bacon and onions, and broccoli with carrots for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to glance at my Fitbit and see that I got 7,500 steps in spite of the knee and all.

It sounds like it was a pretty good day, even with the unruly wind!
