ismoMr. Science was allowed to go home yesterday, and is now resting there in the care of his wife and daughters. He can eat semi-liquid things like kefir and yogurt and mushy cereals, in small quantities. He's still very tired and in some pain, but recovery is proceeding. Ms. Science sent a nice photo of him reposing on the couch, looking tired but alive, so we're all reassured. I copied the picture to my mother's cell phone, and then had to go through a lengthy process with her tonight to enable her to access her messages. I feel sympathy for her. iPhone touch screens are meant to be convenient, but for an older person with stiff old fingers, it can just be hugely frustrating to tap the wrong thing or tap it too hard. Anyway, I succeeded in helping her find it, and perhaps the knowledge of how to do that will persist at least for a time.
I went out for a walk early, before it got too hot. It was too early for the turtles to be out and basking. I thought there wouldn't be any frogs either, but I saw the same bullfrog I saw yesterday. They're gorgeous gold and green creatures, like jade and enamel. When I got home, I did a lot more editing. Surely there will be an end to this soon.
I'm feeling cross because once again I won't have much of a weekend. We're going to my mother's place again tomorrow. Queenie and the Fireman are flying in for a couple of days to deal with more stuff related to the Fireman's mother's death. I think the idea is that they will inter her ashes, but given the occasional dissension in his family, this is not a sure thing. Anyway, it doesn't sound cheerful. We'll have a chance to visit with them and be supportive tomorrow night, before all the funeral stuff they have to do on Saturday. We'll spend some time with Mother on Saturday and then come home. It is my own plan and completely voluntary, but I am tired of my own plan. I need to have some fun in the near future. Very happy about Mr. Science, though! That's something we can all celebrate.
