ismoStrangely enough, today was a repeat of yesterday. Woke up too early, dragged around, gave up and took a nap! I keep dreaming I'm going to Ann Arbor. In one of these dreams, my parents were still alive, and I was going to their house for a birthday party. Alas. I took the bus. I was more the size and shape that I used to be, and wore a red dress. The bus driver was definitely hitting on me, so I got off downtown and then wondered how I was going to get home.
Post-nap, I finally handwashed some of the clothes I wore on the last couple of trips: two hemp shirts, and three cotton dresses, all of which need to be washed by hand to avoid shrinking erratically. They're worth the bother because they feel really nice. One dress was my wedding outfit, a silvery-grey jacquard kind of thing, with an autumn colored duster. Then I partially cleaned the bathroom. So that was SOME kind of accomplishment--better than nothing!
We sat outside until it got so windy that I was afraid a branch would fall on my head. A hawk circled repeatedly overhead. Once he did a barrel roll! I made a big chef salad for dinner, using a nubbin of leftover ham and some of the extensive cheese leftovers we had from Sept. 22, when we hosted a hobbit tea and dinner for our book club. And I cut the leftover corn kernels into it, plus the last of the olives. Also some steamed broccoli and leftover potatoes. And so forth . . . I could have put more things in it, but my brain isn't very sharp at the moment. I'd like to wake up in the morning one day soon, and not be tired. Considering how much time I've spent napping lately, that should happen soon!
