Reports say we are currently experiencing third winter. Rain, sleet, wintry mix, and cold, interspersed with thunderstorms. We spent the afternoon sitting by the fireside, and then took a long nap. Sometimes it's nice to be retired. We're now watching the CNN series on The Pope. Perhaps unfortunately, we already know quite a lot about the history of the Papacy. What most enthralls me about the series is the occasional glimpses of some really lovely calligraphy! Pages and pages of the most exquisite, precise Chancery Cursive. I swoon. Too bad it's kind of like a reliquary--bits of dead crap preserved in precious crystal. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
