Last night I dreamed I was flying Pan Am. I had one of those strangely shaped Pan Am bags, too, the kind that look as if you could carry a bowling ball in them. I don't see how this was meaningful in any way, but that's what happened.

Perhaps the extra sleep yesterday helped, for I felt slightly closer to normal today. Each time I woke up last night, I saw the snow piling higher on roofs and trees. This morning there were four inches or so. Not really a lot, but enough that it needed shoveling. The Sparrowhawk is getting better, but he still has an intimidating cough. Hence it was good that I was up for shoveling. Our neighbor with the snowblower had evidently done a hasty job on his own driveway and taken off early. I cleared off the driveway, the sidewalks, and the car. The car looks like a loaf cake with fluffy frosting when it snows, and it's always fun to scoop the layers of snow frosting off with the snow broom. After that, I scrubbed the bathtub. I figured I'd better do it while I was in a good mood. When I don't feel good to begin with, it's impossible to talk myself into such things.

The Sparrowhawk wanted to add a little more Christmas cheer to the house, so we spent some more time putting up decorations and drinking cocoa. We have a lot more to do, and we're still under the weather, but we have to try to enjoy ourselves along the way. Last night we watched the Muppet Christmas Carol. Last year, we watched it on Christmas, with the Nipper, the Redhead, and Raptor. It's always heartwarming, however. Michael Caine has such a good time!
"And every night will end, and every day will start
With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart."
